Everything has been uploaded through FTP and the permissions have been changed. Whenever I try to run the install, it always goes right back to the login screen. After I login it goes right back to the install screen. It's a never ending cycle.

Could you please let me look at the issue?

Of course. I sent you an email. Just get back to me with whatever you need when you're ready.

Something wrong with php sessions - I'm not sure yet is it server configuration issue or EncapsGallery bug,
will continue exploration.
Will let you know.

Did You Ever Figure This Out Im Having Same Problem

From: Guest   Date: February 24 2008, 17:14
i'm having the same issue

From: Encaps   Date: February 25 2008, 07:18
The client has fixed the issue by himself (by hosting provider): "Okay, I've fixed the problem...My server has it set to where you have to copy paste something into their PHP for sessions to work."

For a website I would need an image gallery and Encaps seems just about right, but it doesn't seem to support category thumbs. That is I can select a category thumb, but it doesn't show in any of the sample layouts. How do I get the category thumbs to show up?

From: Encaps   Date: February 04 2008, 09:10
Category thumbnails are visible from catalog_categs.php,
so you may change intex.php from:
<?php include("catalog.php")?>
to:
<?php include("catalog_categs.php")?>

I had a similar question. Is this possible with sub-categories as well? It does not seem to work for sub-categories.

Hello,

I'm interested in perhaps purchasing your product. I'd like to replace the navigation on this site:

http://***.inkart.net

I'd like to have customers be able to browse images by category or keywords. The thumbs should link to static pages (of which this site has a number already indexed in Google.)

Any chance your product can do this?

Thanks for your time and consideration.

Hello,
I guess customization required to fit your requirements.
You may try to estimate free EncapsGallery demo.

I dont want to put this all on you, but a database backup link in the admin that backs up the database to a download file. I am thinking of making something like this if its not planned for the future.

I see, you'd like to be able to download the database backup from the gallery admin. But usually you can do the same via your webhosting admin panel.
I do not plan to implement similar feature.

Thanks for an easy to use great script!!

One thing I would suggest to make theme skinning easier is to put both 'catalog_head.html' & 'catalog_foot.html' into '.../html/theme_name/' folder.

Is there a list of websites that use your script to see the varying ways everyone is implementing your script?

From: Encaps   Date: February 01 2008, 09:44
Thank you for the suggestion!
Unfortunately I can't show you the list of EncapsGallery implementations - it's private info.

Can you remove the admin username and password page from showing up? I have another method of securing the admin.

I have to enter two user name and passwords, and cant find out how to remove it.

You may comment out the line "catalog_auth.php" from "catalog_head.php" for disable EncapsGallery admin authentication

two-fer-one question(s):

How do I create subcategories?

Do all thumbs go into the same thumbs folder or ???

From: Encaps   Date: January 31 2008, 15:24
1) subcategory is a category which parent_id is another category - so
just set up parent_id for your subcategory
2)all thumbs go into the same thumbs folder

Does the catalog_db_install.php script automatically create a mySQL db or do I have to create it separately? I keep getting the "unable to connect ... " message when I run the file.

Thanks

From: Guest   Date: January 31 2008, 08:09
Sorry - forgot to include the url - www.***-*****.com/encapsgallery/admin/catalog_db_install.php

From: Encaps   Date: January 31 2008, 08:57
You should create the database before install EncapsGallery.

From: Guest   Date: January 31 2008, 08:55
